Rivals have entered Chad’s capital Ndjamena in a bargaining against army units near the presidential palace, this follows an one week rebel offensive to topple the long term president, Idriss Déby. Voa’s Nico colanben reports from a regional bureau in Dakar.
“Military officials, rivals and international aid workers confirmed the fighting around the presidential palace. Clashes began early Saturday 20 kilometers outside the capital before engulfing the city center. Residents in Ndjamena say they heard increasingly intense heavy arms fire, they say rivals occupied the eastern south of the capital in that there are fighting around the airport as well. An exiled rebel spokesman who is been contact with the rivals on the ground Merkeilo engeibo says Chad’s army has offered little resistance. He says rivals from several groups allied themselves for this offensive able to across Chad over the course one week from their base near Sudan and enter the capital in one day. The rivals say that if they take over they will pose transition role for two years before organizing free and fair elections. Chad has had several coups since independence from France in 1960.

Sri Lanka’s military says an explosion on the serving bus in central part of the country has killed at least 18 people and wounded 15 others. The blast occur Saturday in the town Dabular located about one hundred and fifty kilometers north the capital, Colombo. The bus was carrying at least hundred passengers, authorities initially said about 20 people being killed in the attack, there is being no claim responsibilities, authorities say they suspect Tanmou Tiger rebels.

Iraqi authorities have raised death toll from Friday suicide bombings in two popular Baghdad pet markets to 99, making that a deadest in the capital in several months (cry...). This boy was in a truck carrying a coffin of blast victim. Authorities say the two blasts which occur 20 minutes apart were carried out by two women strapped explosive set up by remote control, they say both the women were mentally disabled, about 150 people were wounded in the twin attacks.

Kenya’s government and main opposition party have agreed to take steps to try to end the postal election violence that killed some 850 people. The former United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan said Friday the sides agreed a frame work for the talks this leading in the Kenya capital, Nairobi. In Nairobi, the United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moo called on Kenyans to stop the violence (....This must stop!). He urged Kenya leader to look past personal part interests to result the bitter dispute of last month presidential election.

Weather forecast in China warn more snow and slide will stride across regions of the country already hard hit by unusually severe winter weather. The national meteorology center in Beijing said Friday, most parts of southern China will receive moderate to heavy snow fall both Saturday and Sunday, at least 60 people have died from weather related causes while million are stranded in train stations, airports and ice-covered highways, more than million people are evacuated from their homes. In a Friday the Chinese stay media reported the transportation system beginning function again but million are remain stranded because the heavy snowfall in decades.

Indonesia official say flooding from torrential rain has killed 3 people in the capital, Djakarta, and left nearly 1500 people homeless. Authorities say the rain stopped Saturday, but much of Djakarta remains flooded.

Pakistan authorities say 3 police men were killed during a raid on a suspected Islamic military hightail Saturday in the northwestern part of the country, the instance took place in the town Marton located about 40 kilometers northeastern Pasovor, the capital of northwestern franchise province. A local police spokesman said the militancy open fire after they refused to surrender, at least one militant was killed at the shot.

A top US diplomat has ended a three day visit to North Korea without a complete list of Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programs. Songki L, a US state department top nuclear expert told reporters Saturday that he met with North Korean foreign ministry officials and discussed issues related to that list.
