Just when some people are most in need, others have less to give. In this lean time, great numbers are relying on charity, but donations are getting hard to raise.

 

Julie Nord hopes her card making will someday raise money for charity. Her cancer diagnose forces her to give up paid work. And wishing no receiving treatment in hospital, she is at home of worrying about how to survive on benefits less than 60 pounds a week. The cost of living has risen sharply. And for the first time in her life, she is dependent on help from the family and from charity.

 

There are a lot of people on there, and really, really do need that support. I won’t have the three phones I have stall. You know, that wound be gone, because I just for more mortgage , I wouldn't be out for the bills nothing ,I don't know ,I don't know where we will been.

 

Charities have been squeezed in two ways. Demand for that services increases by 72 percent in the last twelve months. But almost a third suffered falls in donations. That means many charities have to cut costs by making staff redundant.

 

If the government are bailing out the banks who has caused this problem, donator may think about the victims in recession. And out work, therefore, a financial package to support our work with the victims in recession is important.

Corporate donations from the city are shrinking and falling property values and value of legacies is diminishing. That means more pressure on individual to be generals.

 

Charity can be / at the moment. We can afford it. We can donate it. I think / volunteer as well and different ways probably just giving money. I still give now, not every month full like on /

 

It is tough time threaten. Charity just can’t afford to keep losing
