The Nigerian president Good luck Johnnason has declared a state of emergency in some parts of the country following a series of bomb attacks on Christmas Day. This would add to demonstrators' claims that Mr. Daby is biased toward the Syrian government.
The American space agency Nasa is about to put 2 new statellites into orbit around the moon to map its gravity. Scientists expect the day to reveal what exactly lies beneath the moon's surface, shadding new light on how the lunar body forme and how it's changed through time. This is first mission to focus specifically on the moon's gravity. BBC News.   
Protesters have clashed with bullies in the mainly Kurdish city of the Deyarliberker in the southeast Turkey. Demonstrators are said to have chanted slogans and thrwon stones at police, who responded with water canno. The violence follows a police raid during which 2 suspected Kurdish rebels died.   
A 15 year old Afghan child Bride has spoken of her torture at the hands of her husband's family. Saharague, an orphan, was sold to the marriage by her brother for 5,000 dollars. Sahar says she was locked up and brutentlly beaten. She's now recovering in hospital. Caroline Wirre reports from Karbole.
Lying in her hospital bed, Sahar's face still bears the evidence of 6 month old deal. One eye hurt shut and sollen, her skin a spider web of scars. She's in the 15 but she was married off at 14 to a man twice her age. He and his family locked her in a basement and starved and tortured her. The police rescued her after her family raised the alarm. She told them it was her mother in law who'd pulled out her hair and her nails. The police say she was also burnt with cigarettes. No one's sure why the abuse was so violent although some believe that Sahar's in laws were trying to force her into prostitution.         
2 people had been killed and 17 injured in an attack on a police station in southern Cerlombia. Officials said an explosive device was thrown into the police station in Olito, killing the wife and 8 month old baby of the local commander. Police say the country's largest left wing gu. group, the Fark, was behind the attack.
Officials in Chilly say they have detained this Israeli tourist they suspect of having a cause of forest fire in a nature reserve in the south of the country. More than 100 square kilometers of pristine forest has already burnt in the Torrisde Piny National Park in Patogonia. Hundreds of firefighters contine to fight the blaze. BBC News.
