Understand, I turn my disconsolate eye on the refreshments that are to restore me, I find that I must either stuff into my delicate organization, a current pin cushion which I know will swell into immeasurable dimensions when it’s got there, or I must extort from an iron-bound quarry with a fork, cause if I were farming in hospitable soil, some glutinous lumps of gristle and grease called pork pie.
I just find myself forgetting I was at a gig and doing it live, he’d give reign to the most inconsequential thoughts, yeah! he’d expand on ideas and they kind of build through pieces. Yes! You could almost sense his thought process as he writes.
Yes
Got me? you can’t
Yeah, go ahead
Can I just take one which is, um, Mugby Junction
Not many people know Mugby Junction, Mugby Junciton one of the latest, it’s not real a novel as such is it?
No, it’s just a story about a man who arrives at this train station, Munby Junction.
All right
Which becomes a bit sort of allegory for where he’s in his life
Right
He spoke himself, there was no one else to speak to, perhaps though had there been anyone else to speak to, he would have preferred to speak to himself, speaking to himself, he spoke to a man within 5 years of 15 either way, who had turned gray too soon like a neglected fire, a man with many indications on him of having been much alone.
Oh  And he just stop, he just
What’s the fire thing, like a decaying
That was, a man turn gray too soon like a neglected fire
Neglected fire
The thing is he has very driving narrative in the pace, he’s got where is going, but along the way something like that will just boom
It kind of stop you in the track, and the other thing I find about it is not flashy, again we have the same image of Dickens with big long sentence of very florid, as not like that at all, a lot of it is very simple, and in suddenly there is a phrase there that just..
It’s very difficult to go two page without a phrase, yes! Just giving you a little…
Yeah
I mean, emotionally, I feel, cause when I read him, it’s three years ago as I was 45, I felt like an idiot for not having picked any up before.
Dickens was born in 1812, by the time he was 30, he was the most famous writer in the world.
