提高英语听力能力 找对方法很重要!
-I just find myself forgetting I was at a gig and doing it live. He gave reign to the most inconsequential thoughts.
-Yes.
-He'd expanded on ideas and kind of built through the pieces. You can almost sense his thought process as he writes.
-Yeah.
-Can I?
-Yeah, go on.
-Can I just take one which is Mugby Junction.
-Not many people know Mugby Junction. Mugby Junction is one of the latest, not really a novel as such, isn't it?
-No, it's just a story about a man who arrives this train station, Mugby Junction.
-All right.
-...which becomes a bit a sort of allegory for where, where he's at his life.
-Right.
-He spoke to himself as there was no one else to speak to. Perhaps though had there been anyone else to speak to, he would prefer to speak to himself. Speaking to himself, he spoke to a man within 5 years of 50 either way, who turned to grey too soon, like a neglected fire. A man has many indications on him of having been much alone.
-Oh.
-And it's just.
-Oh, yeah...Was it a fire thing, it's just decaying...
-It was a man turned grey too soon like a neglected fire.
-A neglected fire.
-The thing is he had a very enjoying narrative in that pieces. He's got where he's going. But along the way, something like would just boom.
-Kind of stop you in the track. And another thing I find about it. It's not very flashy. Again we have the image of Dickens with big long sentences very fluent. And it's not like that at all. A lot of it is very simple and then suddenly there is a phrase there that just...
-Yeah. It's very difficult to go two pages without a phrase. Just giving you a little.
-Yeah.
-I mean emotionally I feel, cause when I was reading, it was three years to get 45. I felt like an idiot for I haven't picked any up before.
