A panel of advisors to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention says the US should resume using the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. More from NPR’s Rob Stein.

The CDC advisors voted 10 to 4 to recommend lifting the pause on using the one-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. The recommendation teamed after the advisors reviewed the cases of 15 women who developed blood clots after getting the vaccine. They are among the nearly 89 million people who have ever received the shot. Three of the women died and seven remain hospitalized. But the advisors concluded the benefits of protecting people against COVID-19 outweigh a low risk of blood clots. The company has agreed to add a warning about the blood clot risk for women younger than 15. The FDA and CDC will now decide whether to accept the recommendation.
And the agency is expected to accept that recommendation.

President Biden wrapped up a two-day global climate change summit, saying the climate crisis has created an opportunity to reXX the world’s economy, potentially producing millions of clean energy and technology jobs.
US climate envoy XX says the next decade is critical if global warming is to be slowed and big countries including the US need to step up. “There are very few countries that are doing enough. Most countries are not. And of the 20 countries that equal 81% of all the emissions, they are the critical ones that have to do more. And we are among them, we are 15% of all the world’s emissions. China is 30%. Does China need to do more? Absolutely. All of the 20 need to do more.”

Being in the White House today is a virtual summit concluded. The President said the global climate crisis actually represents an opportunity for the US to work with long-time rivals including China and Russia towards a common goal.

Florida is on track to join roughly two dozen states where sports betting is legal. NPR’s XX reports Republican Governor XX is to sign an agreement with the state’s ST that would expand gambling in Florida. The ST of Florida owns a heart-rock international brand and operates 7 casinos in Florida. The agreement allows them to build more casinos and to offer R- and crabs, making the operations comparable with those in Las Vegas. It also allows the ST to control sports betting in Florida. As part of the deal, the tribe will draw up its objections to allow XX high-up operations expand gambling. The deal is expected to produce at least 6 billion dollars of revenue over the next decade. The agreement still has to be approved by the state legislator, which will consider it next month along with other proposals to expand gambling.

Stocks rebounded following a sell-off yesterday in part of worries about a potential big tech sack from wealthy investors. The DOW rose 127 points to 34,043. The NASDAQ was up 198 points today.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Truedo is getting vaccinated along with his wife. They are getting the AstraZeneca vaccine that some have been reluctant to get because of reports of rare blood clots. Ontario recently expanded the eligibility for the AstraZeneca shot to ages 40 and above. Prime Minister says 30% of eligible Canadians have now received at least one vaccine.

Israeli-Palestinian tensions have escalated in Jerusalem. Hundreds of Palestinians extremists marched to the city while police face accusations of excessive use of force against Palestinians.

Tensions have been high in the last week since Israel fenced off a square where Palestinians gather on Ramadan, promoting protests and police to fire XX and water cannons. Thursday night, an extremist Jewish group marched downtown, shouting death to the Arabs. Israeli officers permitted the march but charged the Palestinians unprovoked.

Authorities say a man who escaped from a Nevada apartment of coactions 27 years ago has now been taken into custody. They say the 52-year-old XX was found living in Mexico and was sent back to the US last year. XX escaped from prison after serving less than one year of a fourty-year jail term. He was convicted of DUI in 1992 after crashing into another vehicle while driving in the wrong direction, killing one person.
