The United States has announced plans to ease tough air travel restrictions imposed 18 months ago to try to control the pandemic. Fully vaccinated travelers from Brazil, China, India and many European nations will be able to board flights from early November. There is no decision yet on whether to admit adolescents who’ve only had one jab.      

The UN Secretary General says he is optimistic about the plan for rich nations to contribute a multi-billion fund to help poor countries tackle climate change. But Anthony * said that as yet, there were no commitments.   

Washington has cast doubt in the fairness of the trial in which a man credited with saving hundreds of lives during the Rwandan genocide was convicted of terrorism. The defendant, *, is a critic of the Rwandan President, and has denied involvement in any attacks.   

The United States has announced measures against seven Central American officials. It’s accused of undermining democracy and obstructing corruption investigations. Among the most prominent figures is Guatemala’s Chief Prosecutor, *. In July, she sacked the country’s chief anti-corruption investigator.  

The Lebanese parliament has approved the policy programs of the new government to end the country’s deep economic crisis. It includes negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and reforms that donor countries expect to be enacted.   

A Jihadist commander is said to have been killed in an airstrike in rebel-held territory in northwestern Syria. Reports say the man was from a group linked to Al-Qaida.

And German prosecutors have put a small new Nazi party under investigation for an election stunt in the Bavarian city of * at the weekend. The group place three fake corpses and blood-spattered body bogs on the street.
